One of the hardest decisions that a girl has to make is during shopping. That's the main reason why it takes us too long to purchase anything at the mall. And that's why it's a bad idea to take the men in our lives with us. I mean you can't decide between that colorful zebra top or that neutral colored oversized buttoned shirt. Decisions. Decisions.
What should a girl do?
Don't you worry your pretty little mind, sweetie. I've got a couple of tips for you.
Know your body shape well. I will not try to give you details but you can research on body shapes and what looks good respectively. But I can tell you that the right cut will always be the best for you.
You have to absolutely love it. That's the most basic principle of shopping. You can't just grab anything on a whim just because it's trendy. It has to show who you are and what your style is. Pick something that you know you'll always love to wear for a pretty long time.
Your favorite color should be the one that looks best on you. Sometimes our decisions are dictated by our natural tendencies towards our favorite colors. Unfortunately, it is very possible that we can't wear our favorite colors. Now, I think it's time to sit down, take pictures with you on your fave color and assess whether it's giving you that gorgeous glow or sallow gloom.
Neutrals are your bestfriend. Yes! I know a lot of people who are mostly into colors and prints. But the hardest thing about these choices is that they don't have the versatility in paring with everything. And with social media showing off our OOTD, what we wear will be immortalized. Every photo will show how many times you've worn that floral jacket or that leopard print dress. But these neutrals won't betray you on Facebook.
Know when you've had too much of the same stuff. There are times when you can't have too much of white tees. But it can't be applied to all. Ask yourself whether you have the same thing in your closet. If you do then you gotta move on to the next rack, sister.
It has to work with your existing wardrobe. Avoid getting stuff that matches with one pair of jeans and nothing else. It has to work with at least 3 or more pieces in your closet. Don't be that girl who has to wear the same combo everytime those neon jeans goes out for a walk. It won't be worth your money.
Plan your wardrobe. There are certain things in life that needs planning and this is one of those. Be aware of your lifestyle and fit your wardrobe accordingly. If you're an office girl then you'll probably be needing more trousers and skirts than a regular high school student. Choosing your prints wisely will help you get rid of getting outfit stuck. Limit your dresses since it has very limited pairing choices, too. And when you go shopping next time, you'll definitely know whether it's inline with your vision or not.
That's it. I hope my tips can help clear up that cloud on your head!
Remember, fashion is seasonal, style is eternal.
